Purchased in 2014 from the original owners, the Brentwood Remodel floor plan and finishes remained in tact much as they were when the house was first built in 1958. With the goals of maximizing natural light, visual connection between the public spaces and a direct connection to the backyard, the main living space was enlarged by reducing the width of the kitchen to provide more space for circulation and furniture. A large 12' wide sliding door unit was included in the dining/living space with a second set of sliding doors providing access from the playroom. The former kitchen remains in the existing location but now extends the length of the space, providing ample countertop and base cabinet storage, a large island and multiple prep zones. The former garage and exterior utility room was converted to a flexible playroom space, a new laundry/mudroom, a walk-in pantry and carport. By way of a barn door, the playroom can accommodate overnight guests with an en suite powder room. The adjacent hall bath and master half bath were completely remodeled to accommodate two full bathrooms.
