This house was in serious need of TLC and some minor interior and exterior modifications to make it function for a young family. At just under 900 square feet, efficiency was crucial. In order to provide necessary circulation, the front door was relocated and the rear of the living room was extended 30" to accommodate a standard dining table. Through the creation of diagonal "views" from the living room and kitchen, the house feels larger than it is because the rooms are seen in their widest angles.
The decisions made in 2007 were based on a long-term goal of adding a master wing (eventually constructed in 2011). The connection to the new wing will be through the current back door which will then be moved to the rear of the house. The only interruption to the existing house will be the removal of this door and an extension of the current HVAC ductwork.
